22 Week Bumpdate!

How Far Along: 22 weeks 1 day

Size of Baby: Papaya

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +17 lbs. Eating out less and eating less in general isn't slowing it down. I figure as long as the doctor isn't concerned, I'm going to try not to be as well.

Maternity Clothes: I can still wear my yoga pants and comfy shorts, but moved on to maternity long ago.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!

Movement: Every single day and I'm loving it! Phil was able to finally feel him move twice, but he's kicking down low and there's more padding down there so it's harder to feel for him.

Sleep: Better! Allergies are subsiding so that's always helpful. Plus, we have an air purifier and humidifier going at night. Not a fan of night sweats though.

What I Miss: Energy. I try to get out more and end up feeling exhausted within 5-10 minutes. So much for walking. I do what I can when I can!

Cravings: An Icee every time I walk into Target. But, I don't let myself get one anymore. Also, nachos from Baja Fresh, but at 945 calories, I'm making some at home instead of going out.

Symptoms: Vivid dreams, night sweats, weight gain.

Best Moment This Week: Hearing his heartbeat and feeling him wiggle and move a lot! I was also cleared to fly to CA next week so I'm ecstatic!

So What Wednesdays

So What Wednesday
This week, I'm saying SO WHAT if...
  • I'm struggling through this allergy season. My stuffy nose keeps me from sleeping well and I'm over it.
  • I can't wait to be in California in a couple of weeks. I miss my mom way too much!
  • The news about the FAA furlough makes me mad. People are complaining that their flights shouldn't be delayed because of the furlough cutting the workforce for traffic control. Apparently the people who work behind the scenes can be furloughed just not the people that affect you.
  • I see the silver lining with the furlough. My husband has off one day every other week. Not thrilled that he doesn't get paid, but it's more time with him.
  • I can't wait to eat at In-N-Out and will be doing so for the first meal off the plane.
  • I can no longer breathe well and get exhausted when I walk. The doctor said the baby is up high now!
  • I'm already looking forward to my shower!

21 Week Bumpdate

How Far Along: 21 weeks 1 day

Size of Baby: Pomegranate (10.5 inches, 12.7 oz) Getting so big!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +9 lbs. I go to the dr tomorrow so we'll see what it's up to now.

Maternity Clothes: I can still wear my yoga pants and comfy shorts, but moved on to maternity long ago.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!

Movement: Daily. Only I can feel it (still), but he's moving a lot more these days.

Sleep: So frustrating. I'm so tired, but when I lie down to go to sleep, my nose gets stuffed up and I can't sleep well. Waking up multiple times per night due to not breathing well.

What I Miss: Being able to breathe and walk around without getting tired and winded quickly. Of course, I'll take it for our healthy baby!

Cravings: Nothing too big this week.

Symptoms: Stuffy nose (thank to allergies as well), my boobs are getting bigger and are sore (again), and increased hunger on and off.

Best Moment This Week: Seeing our little boy at the anatomy scan this past week! We were told that he's looking good and see the doctor for our regular appointment tomorrow. Can't wait to hear his heartbeat again!

Continuing our Search

We put house hunting on hold for a while. It was only for a couple of months, but it was well needed. It seemed like every time the realtor and I got together, she would mention something else that we would need to have money for before we could buy. Obviously, it wasn't as easy as it was made out to be and we decided to talk to the lender in April to make sure we knew exactly where we needed to be.

Yesterday we had a talk with the lender and found out that we have enough to purchase with one type of loan and just a few months away using another type of loan. It all depends on which loan the house we want qualifies for.

I'm happy to say we are no longer looking at an FHA loan. It was super stressful since our budget is limited and we would possibly have to do a rehab loan which would make everything more expensive. Instead, we can look for houses knowing that we can put work into it, if needed, over time as long as it's not an immediate need.

So, we're looking at one house and two townhouses on Tuesday. I'm happy to see our options, but not getting my hopes up too high that we will find the right one.

It's hard because everyone is telling us we need to be in our own place before the baby comes, but we (and Phil's parents) agree that if that is not what's best, then we stay here and continue to save.

I'm glad we have a back-up plan, but also miss our own space sometimes. It's still working out much better than I ever thought it would so that's definitely a blessing.

Spring is Here!

There's just something about the Spring and Fall that really agrees with me.

The sunshine, cool breeze, and weather in the 60's-low 80's really makes me feel like a different person. It's incredible, really.

Every winter, I feel a little blah and less motivated to do things. But, when the sunshine comes and freezing temperatures are gone, so are my winter blues! This week, I've been doing so much more that I have for weeks! I love running errands and getting outside. My bedroom windows are usually open and the fan is on. It's wonderful with the sunshine shining through.

I'm definitely looking forward to next spring when the baby will be old enough to really enjoy going for walks and getting out and about.

I am still nervous about the summer, but we'll soak in these next few months until then.

19 Week Bumpdate!

TheBump.com

How Far Along: 19 weeks 1 day

Size of Baby: Mango (6 inches, 8.5 oz) That's half a pound!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +9 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I actually had to go a size up in maternity shirts this week due to my expanding belly.

Gender: It's a BOY!!!

Movement: Getting more frequent and hoping it stays this way. I felt a couple of "big" movements on Saturday and can't wait for more of those.

Sleep: Eh, could be better. I'm getting so tired during the day, but trying to keep busy so I'm not napping. Of course, I then feel exhausted and have a hard time sleeping well.

What I Miss: Sleeping in and having more energy.

Cravings: I actually craved chocolate! The first trimester I couldn't handle chocolate. Also, shrimp salad sandwiches which I will be making soon.

Symptoms: Exhausted. I can't even walk around a store let alone a mall without needing a break! I am also expanding in the chest again so soreness and my left ankle gets swollen when I get out and about. Oh, and I'm constantly hungry.

Best Moment This Week: Feeling the "big" movements! Most days they're still flutters, taps, or just wiggles so I can't wait to feel his full body movements on the regular soon.

I'm also looking forward to our anatomy scan next Wednesday!

So What Wednesdays

So What Wednesday
This week, I'm saying So What if...
  • I am obsessed with watching "I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant" and "Extreme Couponing." Oh and I totally miss couponing.
  • We're not decorating a nursery for the baby. We live with my in-laws and it might be for quite a while so until we have the space, we're making due.
  • I see cute cloth diapers and want to buy them. Of course, I only do if it's a great deal, but I'm really wanting to complete my stash.
  • I freaked out yesterday when I didn't feel the baby move after the glucose drink. I mean, I don't feel him move daily yet so it's not a problem, but I really thought he would have been more active after all that glucose. I felt him later that day so that made me feel better.
  • Most days I lounge around unless I need to get out of the house for something. I don't have a lot to do since we're living with his parents.
  • I still haven't sewn much for the show next weekend. Oh well, I'll go with what I have done and not have too much left over!
  • I'm focusing on making boy things in case we don't sell much. Then, I can use what I've made without having a ton of things in storage.
  • I still can't handle cooked green vegetables. It's a texture issue.

Belly Pic Comparison

Every week I look down at my belly and see it growing just a little and every week I'm surprised at how much I've grown since we found out December 26th.

Here are my first two belly pics...
The left is towards the end of Week 4 and the right is Week 12

The left is Week 18
 Top right Week 16
 Bottom right Week 17

I remember being worried that I would not look pregnant and that I would only look fat. I don't think that will be the case!
